Here's a quick and easy recipe for a delicious chocolate cake:

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup boiling water

Steps:

Step 1: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.

Step 2: In a large bowl, sift together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

Step 3: Add milk, vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients. Mix until well combined.

Step 4: Gradually add the boiling water, mixing continuously. The batter will be thin; this is normal.

Step 5: Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan.

Step 6: Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Step 7: Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.

Step 8: Once the cake is cooled, you can dust it with powdered sugar or frost it with your favorite chocolate icing.
