Homemade Stuffed Garlic Bread


For the Bread:

  • 1 loaf of French bread or Italian bread
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • Salt to taste

For the Stuffing:

  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste


  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a small bowl, mix together the softened butter, minced garlic, chopped parsley, and a pinch of salt to create the garlic butter spread.
  3. Slice the French or Italian bread in half lengthwise. Place the bread on a baking sheet.
  4. Spread the garlic butter mixture evenly over both cut sides of the bread.
  5. In a separate bowl, combine shredded mozzarella, grated Parmesan, melted butter, chopped parsley, garlic powder, dried oregano, salt, and pepper to make the stuffing.
  6. Evenly distribute the stuffing mixture over one half of the bread.
  7. Place the other half of the bread on top, creating a sandwich.
  8. Wrap the stuffed bread in aluminum foil, leaving the top exposed.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  10. Optionally, unwrap the top and broil for an additional 2-3 minutes to achieve a golden-brown crust.
  11. Remove from the oven, let it cool for a few minutes, then slice and serve your homemade stuffed garlic bread.
