Tofu and Chives Rice Paper Dumpling

Ingredients:

For the Filling:

  • 1 block firm tofu, pressed and crumbled
  • 1 cup fresh chives, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon rice vinegar
  • Salt and pepper to taste

For the Rice Paper Wrappers:

  • Rice paper wrappers (round)
  • Warm water for soaking

For the Dipping Sauce:

  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon agave syrup or honey
  • Sesame seeds and chopped green onions for garnish (optional)

Assembly Steps:

Step 1: In a bowl, combine crumbled tofu, chopped chives, minced garlic, soy sauce, sesame oil, rice vinegar, salt, and pepper. Mix well to create the filling.

Step 2: Prepare a shallow dish with warm water for soaking the rice paper wrappers.

Step 3: Submerge a rice paper wrapper in the warm water for about 10-15 seconds until it becomes pliable.

Step 4: Lay the soaked rice paper wrapper on a clean surface.

Step 5: Place a spoonful of the tofu and chives filling in the center of the wrapper.

Step 6: Fold the sides of the wrapper over the filling and then roll it up tightly.

Step 7: Repeat the process until all the filling is used.

Step 8: In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and agave syrup to create the dipping sauce.

Step 9: Serve the Tofu and Chives Rice Paper Dumplings with the dipping sauce.

Step 10: Optional: Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions.
