Delicious Aloo Roll

Ingredients:

For the Aloo Filling:

  • 3 large potatoes, boiled and mashed
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 1 green chili, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon ginger-garlic paste
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garam masala
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons cooking oil

For the Roll:

  • Flatbreads or Rotis (store-bought or homemade)
  • Mint chutney or tamarind chutney (optional)
  • Sliced onions and tomatoes (optional)

Instructions:

For the Aloo Filling:

  1. In a pan, heat oil over medium heat. Add cumin seeds and let them splutter.
  2. Add chopped onions and green chilies. Sauté until onions turn golden brown.
  3. Add ginger-garlic paste and cook for a minute until the raw smell disappears.
  4. Add turmeric powder, coriander powder, and garam masala. Stir well.
  5. Add mashed potatoes and salt. Mix everything thoroughly and cook for 3-5 minutes.
  6. Garnish with fresh cilantro. Remove from heat and set aside.

For Assembling the Aloo Roll:

  1. Warm the flatbreads or rotis on a griddle or in a microwave.
  2. Place a generous amount of the aloo filling in the center of each flatbread.
  3. Optional: Drizzle with mint chutney or tamarind chutney for extra flavor.
  4. Add sliced onions and tomatoes if desired.
  5. Roll the flatbread around the filling, creating a tight roll or wrap.
  6. Serve the Aloo Roll immediately as a delicious and satisfying street food snack. Enjoy the burst of flavors!
