Puff Pastry Ground Beef Roulade

Ingredients:
- 1 sheet of puff pastry, thawed
- 1 lb (about 450g) ground beef
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
- Sesame seeds or poppy seeds for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a skillet, cook ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat.
- Add chopped onion and minced garlic to the cooked ground beef. Sauté until the onion is translucent.
- Season the mixture with ground cumin, paprika, dried oregano, salt, and black pepper. Stir to combine. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.
- Roll out the thawed puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface into a rectangular shape.
- Spread the seasoned ground beef mixture evenly over the puff pastry, leaving a small border around the edges.
- Starting from one of the longer sides, tightly roll the puff pastry and filling into a log shape.
- Place the rolled roulade seam side down on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Brush the beaten egg over the top of the puff pastry for a golden finish. Optionally, sprinkle sesame seeds or poppy seeds on top.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until the puff pastry is golden brown and cooked through.
- Allow the Puff Pastry Ground Beef Roulade to cool for a few minutes before slicing into rounds.
