Garlic Naan

Garlic Naan

Ingredients

  1. 2 cups all-purpose flour
  2. 1 teaspoon sugar
  3. 1 teaspoon baking powder
  4. 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  5. 1/4 teaspoon salt
  6. 2 tablespoons plain yogurt
  7. 2 tablespoons melted ghee or butter
  8. 1/2 cup warm milk
  9. 2 cloves garlic, minced
  10. Chopped fresh coriander leaves for garnish (optional)
  11. Extra ghee or butter for brushing

Steps

Step 1: In a bowl, combine all-purpose flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

Step 2: Add plain yogurt, melted ghee or butter, and warm milk to the dry ingredients. Mix to form a soft dough.

Step 3: Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.

Step 4: Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a damp cloth, and let it rest for 2 hours, allowing it to rise.

Step 5: Preheat a tawa or skillet over medium-high heat.

Step 6: Divide the dough into equal-sized portions and roll each portion into a ball.

Step 7: Roll out each ball into a naan shape, about 1/4 inch thick.

Step 8: Sprinkle minced garlic and coriander leaves on top of each rolled-out naan, pressing them into the surface.

Step 9: Place the rolled naan on the preheated skillet and cook for about 1-2 minutes or until bubbles form on the surface.

Step 10: Flip the naan and cook the other side until golden brown spots appear.

Step 11: Brush the cooked Garlic Naan with ghee or butter for added flavor.

Step 12: Repeat the process for the remaining dough portions.

Serve the warm and aromatic Garlic Naan with your favorite Indian dishes or enjoy it on its own as a delicious bread option. Enjoy!
