Ingredients:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour (862 kcal)

  • 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder (120 kcal)
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup whole milk (61 kcal)
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil (960 kcal)
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup boiling water

For Coconut-Pecan Frosting:

  • 1 cup evaporated milk (336 kcal)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar (804 kcal)
  • 3 large egg yolks
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/3 cups shredded coconut (400 kcal)
  • 1 cup chopped pecans (786 kcal)

Cooking Steps:

Step 1: Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C). Grease and flour three 9-inch cake pans.

Step 2: In a large bowl, sift together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

Step 3: Add eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients. Beat on medium speed until well combined.

Step 4: Stir in boiling water, ensuring the batter is smooth. The batter will be thin.
