The Art of Croissant making

Ingredients:

  1. 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  2. 1/4 cup sugar
  3. 1 teaspoon salt
  4. 1 cup unsalted butter, cold
  5. 1/4 cup warm water
  6. 1/4 cup warm milk
  7. 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
  8. (Optional) Chocolate chips or ham and cheese for filling

(Calories: Approximately 250 per croissant)

Steps:

  1. In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, and salt.
  2. Cut cold butter into the flour mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs.
  3. Dissolve yeast in warm water and milk, then add to the flour mixture.
  4. Knead the dough until smooth, then refrigerate for an hour.
  5. Roll out the dough, fold in thirds, and repeat twice.
  6. Cut the dough into triangles and add filling if desired.
  7. Roll each triangle into a crescent shape.
  8. Let the croissants rise for an hour.
  9. Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
  10. Enjoy your homemade croissants!
