Punjabi Aloo Paratha

Ingredients:
For the Dough:
- 2 cups whole wheat flour
- Water (as needed)
- Salt to taste
For the Potato Filling:
- 3 large potatoes, boiled and mashed
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 green chilies, finely chopped
- 1 teaspoon ginger, grated
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 1/2 teaspoon garam masala
- 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder
- Fresh coriander leaves, chopped
- Salt to taste
- Ghee or oil for cooking
Steps:
Step 1: Prepare the Dough
- In a bowl, mix whole wheat flour, salt, and water to form a soft dough. Set aside.
Step 2: Make Potato Filling
- In another bowl, combine mashed potatoes with chopped onion, green chilies, grated ginger, cumin seeds, garam masala, red chili powder, chopped coriander leaves, and salt. Mix well.
Step 3: Assemble Parathas
- Divide the dough into equal portions and roll each portion into a small ball.
- Roll out a ball into a small disc, place a portion of the potato filling in the center, and seal the edges to form a stuffed ball.
Step 4: Roll Out Parathas
- Roll out the stuffed ball into a flat, round paratha.
Step 5: Cook on Griddle
- Heat a griddle or skillet. Cook the rolled-out paratha on both sides, applying ghee or oil until golden brown spots appear.
Step 6: Serve Hot
- Serve Punjabi Aloo Paratha hot with yogurt, pickles, or a side of butter for a delightful and authentic Punjabi culinary experience.
