Mutton Kheema at Home

Ingredients:

  1. 500g minced mutton
  2. 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  3. 1 large onion, finely chopped
  4. 2 tomatoes, diced
  5. 1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste
  6. 2 green chilies, finely chopped
  7. 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  8. 1 teaspoon ground coriander
  9. 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  10. 1 teaspoon red chili powder
  11. 1 teaspoon garam masala
  12. Salt to taste
  13. Fresh coriander leaves for garnish

Steps:

Step 1: Sauté Aromatics

  • Heat vegetable oil in a pan. Add cumin seeds and let them splutter.
  • Add finely chopped onions, green chilies, and ginger-garlic paste. Sauté until onions are golden brown.

Step 2: Cook Minced Mutton

  • Add minced mutton to the pan. Cook until the meat is browned.

Step 3: Add Spices

  • Incorporate ground coriander, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt. Mix well.

Step 4: Introduce Tomatoes

  • Add diced tomatoes to the mixture. Cook until they are softened and the oil separates.

Step 5: Simmer and Garnish

  • Sprinkle garam masala and let the kheema simmer until the flavors meld.
  • Garnish with fresh coriander leaves.

Step 6: Serve and Enjoy!

  • Mutton Kheema is ready to be served. Enjoy it with rice, naan, or your favorite bread for a taste of authentic Indian comfort food.
