Ingredients:

  • 2 cups water
  • 2 cups milk
  • 4-5 teaspoons loose tea leaves or 4 tea bags
  • 2-3 tablespoons sugar (adjust to taste)
  • 4-5 whole cardamom pods
  • 1-inch piece of ginger, grated
  • 2-3 cinnamon sticks

Steps:

Step 1: In a pot, combine water, milk, tea leaves or bags, sugar, cardamom pods, grated ginger, and cinnamon sticks.
Step 2: Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to simmer for 5-7 minutes to allow the spices to infuse.

Step 3: Strain the chai into small cups, known as cutting glasses, leaving behind the tea leaves or bags and spices.
