Crispy Potato Namkeen

Ingredients:

  • 2 large potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup chickpea flour (besan)
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garam masala
  • 1/2 teaspoon chaat masala
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil for deep frying
  • Fresh coriander leaves for garnish (optional)

Cooking Steps:

Step 1: Rinse and thinly slice the potatoes. Pat them dry with a kitchen towel to remove excess moisture.

Step 2: In a bowl, combine chickpea flour, turmeric powder, red chili powder, garam masala, chaat masala, and salt. Mix well to form a dry spice mix.

Step 3: Toss the sliced potatoes in the dry spice mix, ensuring each slice is coated evenly.

Step 4: Heat oil in a deep pan or fryer for deep frying.

Step 5: Carefully add the spiced potato slices to the hot oil in batches, ensuring they don't stick together.

Step 6: Fry the potato slices until they turn golden brown and crispy. Use a slotted spoon to remove them from the oil.

Step 7: Place the crispy potato namkeen on a paper towel to absorb any excess oil.

Step 8: Repeat the frying process for the remaining batches.

Step 9: Allow the crispy potato namkeen to cool completely before storing in an airtight container.

Step 10: Garnish with fresh coriander leaves if desired.
