Egg Paratha for Breakfast

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups whole wheat flour
  • Water for kneading
  • Salt to taste
  • Ghee or oil for cooking
  • 4 eggs
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Chopped onions, tomatoes, green chilies (optional for egg filling)
  • Chopped coriander leaves for garnish

Cooking Steps:

  1. Prepare the Dough:
    • In a bowl, combine whole wheat flour and a pinch of salt.
    • Gradually add water and knead to form a smooth dough.
    • Cover the dough and let it rest for about 15-20 minutes.
  2. Prepare Egg Filling:
    • Crack the eggs into a bowl.
    • Beat the eggs and season with salt and pepper.
    • Optionally, add chopped onions, tomatoes, and green chilies for extra flavor.
  3. Make Parathas:
    • Divide the dough into equal portions and roll them into balls.
    • Roll out one ball into a small circle.
    • Place a portion of the beaten egg mixture in the center.
    • Fold the edges of the dough over the egg mixture to seal, creating a stuffed ball.
    • Roll out the stuffed ball into a flat, round paratha.
  4. Cook Parathas:
    • Heat a griddle or tawa over medium heat.
    • Place the rolled paratha on the hot surface.
    • Cook one side until it starts to puff up or shows small brown spots.
    • Flip the paratha and cook the other side until fully cooked.
    • Brush the cooked paratha with ghee or oil.
  5. Repeat for Remaining Dough:
    • Repeat the process for the remaining dough portions.
  6. Serve Hot:
    • Garnish the egg parathas with chopped coriander leaves.
    • Serve hot with yogurt, pickle, or your favorite chutney.
