Meat Rolls with Ham and Cheese

Ingredients

  1. 1 lb ground beef or a mixture of beef and pork
  2. Salt and pepper to taste
  3. 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  4. 1 teaspoon onion powder
  5. 4 slices of ham
  6. 4 slices of your favorite cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or Swiss)
  7. Olive oil for brushing
  8. Toothpicks

Steps

Step 1: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Step 2: In a bowl, season the ground meat with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix until the seasoning is evenly distributed.

Step 3: Divide the seasoned meat into four portions.

Step 4: Flatten each portion into a thin, rectangular shape.

Step 5: Place a slice of ham and a slice of cheese on top of each meat portion.

Step 6: Roll the meat around the ham and cheese, creating a log shape. Secure with toothpicks to hold the rolls together.

Step 7: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.

Step 8: Brown the meat rolls on all sides in the skillet, creating a sear for added flavor.

Step 9: Transfer the browned meat rolls to a baking dish.

Step 10: Bake in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches at least 160°F (71°C).

Step 11: Remove the toothpicks before serving.
