Beef Wellington
Ingredients:
- Beef fillet (1.5 kg)
- Puff pastry sheets (500g)
- Prosciutto slices (200g)
- Mushrooms (500g, finely chopped)
- Shallots (4, finely diced)
- Garlic cloves (3, minced)
- Dijon mustard - [X kcal]
- Egg (1, beaten for egg wash)
- Olive oil
- Salt and black pepper to taste
Cooking Steps:
Step 1: Sear the beef fillet in a hot pan until browned on all sides. Let it cool.
Step 2: Prepare the mushroom duxelles by sautéing finely chopped mushrooms, shallots, and garlic in olive oil until moisture evaporates.
Step 3: Coat the beef fillet with Dijon mustard, then cover with prosciutto slices.
Step 4: Spread the mushroom duxelles over the prosciutto-covered beef.
Step 5: Roll out puff pastry, wrap the beef in it, sealing the edges.
Step 6: Brush the pastry with beaten egg for a golden finish.
Step 7: Bake in a preheated oven until the pastry is golden and the beef reaches the desired doneness.
