Skillet Lasagna Roll-ups
Ingredients:
For the Lasagna Roll-ups:
- 8 lasagna noodles, cooked al dente
- 1 pound ground beef or Italian sausage
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (14 oz) crushed tomatoes
- 1 can (14 oz) tomato sauce
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 1 cup ricotta cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Fresh basil or parsley for garnish
Cooking Steps:
Step 1: Prepare Lasagna Noodles Cook lasagna noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
Step 2: Brown Meat In a large skillet, brown the ground beef or Italian sausage over medium heat. Add chopped onions and minced garlic, cooking until onions are softened.
Step 3: Add Tomato Sauce and Seasoning Pour in crushed tomatoes and tomato sauce. Add dried oregano, dried basil, salt, and black pepper. Stir well and let it simmer for about 10-15 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.
Step 4: Assemble Roll-ups Lay out the cooked lasagna noodles. Spread a layer of ricotta cheese on each noodle, followed by a layer of the meat sauce. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella and grated Parmesan cheese evenly over the sauce.
Step 5: Roll the Noodles Carefully roll each lasagna noodle into a tight spiral. Place the roll-ups seam side down in the skillet, nestled into the meat sauce.
Step 6: Simmer Spoon some additional meat sauce over the top of the roll-ups. Cover the skillet and let it simmer for about 15-20 minutes on low heat, allowing the flavors to meld and the roll-ups to cook through.
Step 7: Garnish and Serve Once the roll-ups are cooked and the cheese is melted, garnish with fresh basil or parsley. Serve the Skillet Lasagna Roll-ups hot.
