Ingredients:

For the Paratha Dough:

  • 2 cups whole wheat flour
  • Water (as needed for kneading)
  • Salt to taste

For the Paneer Filling:

  • 1 cup crumbled paneer (cottage cheese)
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 green chili, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh coriander leaves, chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garam masala
  • Salt to taste

For Cooking:

  • Ghee or oil for cooking

Steps:

For the Paratha Dough:

Step 1: In a large bowl, combine whole wheat flour and a pinch of salt.

Step 2: Gradually add water and knead to form a soft and smooth dough. Cover and let it rest for 15-20 minutes.

For the Paneer Filling:

Step 3: In a mixing bowl, combine crumbled paneer, finely chopped onion, green chili, fresh coriander leaves, cumin powder, garam masala, and salt. Mix well.

For Assembling and Cooking:

Step 4: Divide the rested dough into lemon-sized balls.

Step 5: Roll a dough ball into a small disc, place a portion of the paneer filling in the center.

Step 6: Bring the edges of the disc together to cover the filling, sealing it to form a stuffed ball.

Step 7: Flatten the stuffed ball and roll it out into a round paratha, being careful not to let the filling come out.

Step 8: Heat a griddle or tawa, place the rolled-out paratha on it.

Step 9: Cook on both sides using ghee or oil until golden brown spots appear.

Step 10: Repeat the process for the remaining dough balls.

Step 11: Serve the Paneer Paratha hot with yogurt, pickles, or any preferred side dish.

Enjoy Paneer Paratha – a wholesome and flavorful dish that brings together the goodness of paneer and the comforting warmth of freshly made parathas.
