Ingredients:

  • 1 kg chicken, cut into pieces
  • 2 large onions, finely chopped
  • 3 tomatoes, pureed
  • 2 tablespoons ginger-garlic paste
  • 1/4 cup cooking oil
  • 1/2 cup plain yogurt
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 2 teaspoons red chili powder (adjust to taste)
  • 2 teaspoons ground coriander
  • 1 teaspoon cumin powder
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh coriander leaves for garnish

Cooking Steps:

Step 1: Heat oil in a pan, add chopped onions, and sauté until golden brown.

Step 2: Add ginger-garlic paste and cook until the raw aroma dissipates.

Step 3: Mix in the chicken pieces and brown them on all sides.

Step 4: Pour in the tomato puree, yogurt, and all the spices (turmeric, red chili, coriander, cumin, garam masala). Stir well.

Step 5: Cover and simmer until the chicken is cooked through, and the curry thickens.

Step 6: Adjust salt and spice levels according to taste.

Step 7: Garnish with fresh coriander leaves before serving.
