Ingredients:
- 1 cup neutral-flavored oil (vegetable or peanut oil)
- 1/2 cup dried red chili flakes
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup crispy garlic (available at Asian grocery stores or homemade)
- 2 tablespoons sesame seeds
- 2 tablespoons crushed roasted peanuts
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon Sichuan peppercorns, toasted and ground
- 1 teaspoon five-spice powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)
Preparation:
Step 1: Prepare Chili Oil Base
- Heat the neutral-flavored oil in a saucepan over medium heat. Add dried red chili flakes and cook until the oil turns red and fragrant, but be careful not to burn the chili flakes.
Step 2: Combine Ingredients
