Delicious Sausage Gravy Biscuits

Ingredients:

For Biscuits:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • 3/4 cup milk

For Sausage Gravy:

  • 1 lb breakfast sausage
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3 cups whole milk
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Cooking Steps:

For Biscuits: Step 1: Preheat the oven to 450°F (230°C).

Step 2: In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.

Step 3: Cut in the cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

Step 4: Pour in the milk and stir until just combined.

Step 5: Turn the dough out onto a floured surface, gently knead, and roll it to about 1-inch thickness.

Step 6: Cut out biscuits using a round cutter and place them on a baking sheet.

Step 7: Bake for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown.

For Sausage Gravy: Step 1: In a skillet, cook breakfast sausage over medium heat until browned and cooked through.

Step 2: Sprinkle flour over the cooked sausage, stirring to combine and cook for 1-2 minutes.

Step 3: Gradually add milk, stirring continuously to avoid lumps.

Step 4: Simmer until the gravy thickens. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.

Serve the Sausage Gravy over warm biscuits for a delicious and comforting breakfast or brunch.
