Ingredients:

  1. Sushi Rice:
    • 2 cups cooked short-grain rice
    • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
    • 1 tablespoon sugar
    • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  2. Chicken Filling:
    • 1 cup cooked and shredded chicken
    • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
    • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
    • 1 teaspoon sugar
    • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  3. Vegetables:
    • 4 sheets roasted seaweed (gim/nori)
    • 1 carrot, julienned
    • 1 cucumber, julienned
    • 1 avocado, sliced
    • Sesame seeds for garnish
  4. Dipping Sauce:
    • Soy sauce
    • Wasabi (optional)

Steps:

Step 1: Prepare Sushi Rice

  • Mix rice vinegar, sugar, and salt. Fold into cooked rice, allowing it to cool.

Step 2: Season Chicken

  • Combine shredded chicken with soy sauce, sesame oil, sugar, and garlic powder. Set aside.

Step 3: Assemble Gimbap

  • Place a sheet of seaweed on a bamboo sushi mat.
  • Spread a thin layer of sushi rice, leaving a small border.
  • Arrange chicken, carrot, cucumber, and avocado along one edge.
  • Roll tightly using the sushi mat.

Step 4: Slice and Garnish

  • Slice the rolled gimbap into bite-sized pieces.
  • Sprinkle sesame seeds for an added crunch.

Step 5: Serve with Dipping Sauce

  • Mix soy sauce with wasabi if desired, for a flavorful dipping experience.
