Calories: Approximately 100 kcal per cookie.
Cooking Steps:
Step 1: In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and powdered sugar until smooth.
Step 2: Add the vanilla extract, almond extract, and a pinch of salt to the butter-sugar mixture. Mix until well combined.
Step 3: Gradually add the flour to the wet ingredients, mixing until a soft dough forms.
Step 4: Divide the dough in half and shape each portion into a disc. Wrap in plastic wrap and chill in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour.
Step 5: Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C). Roll out the chilled dough on a floured surface and cut out heart shapes using a cookie cutter.
Step 6: Place the cut-out cookies on a lined baking sheet. Using a smaller heart-shaped cutter, remove the center of each cookie.
Step 7: Fill the center cut-out with crushed clear hard candy. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are golden and the candy has melted to create a glass-like effect.
Step 8: Allow the cookies to cool completely before carefully removing them from the baking sheet. Share these enchanting Valentine's Day Glass Cookies with your loved ones for a magical and sweet celebration.
