Aloo Samosa Snacks

Ingredients:

For the Filling:

  • 3 medium-sized potatoes, boiled and mashed
  • 1 cup peas
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 green chilies, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon ginger-garlic paste
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala
  • Salt to taste
  • Cooking oil for sautéing

For the Dough:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup ghee or oil
  • Water as needed
  • Salt to taste

For Frying:

  • Cooking oil

Cooking Steps:

Step 1: In a pan, heat oil and add cumin seeds. Once they splutter, add chopped onions and green chilies. Sauté until onions are golden brown.

Step 2: Add ginger-garlic paste and cook until the raw smell disappears. Add turmeric, coriander powder, and garam masala.

Step 3: Add mashed potatoes and peas. Mix well and cook for a few minutes. Season with salt.

Step 4: For the dough, mix flour, ghee (or oil), and salt. Add water gradually to form a firm dough. Rest the dough for 30 minutes.

Step 5: Divide the dough into small balls. Roll each ball into a thin oval shape.

Step 6: Cut the oval in half to form two semi-circles. Create a cone shape by sealing the edges with water.

Step 7: Fill each cone with the potato mixture, seal the edges, and ensure they are well-crimped.

Step 8: Heat oil for frying. Fry the samosas until they turn golden brown and crispy.

Serve these Aloo Samosas hot with mint chutney for an irresistible snack that captures the essence of Indian flavors.
